Welcome to the gateway of the mountain world

In the borderland between forest and mountain lies Turistgården in Särna. Here,you will stay in a charming wood house from the 1800s surrounded by birch, pine and spruce trees. Sweden?s southernmost national park and PANpark Fulufjället is located only 30 minutes away.

In the park Fulufjället, you can see Sweden?s highest waterfall, Njupuskär, and the world?s oldest tree. Kungsleden (The Royal Trail) starts here and stretches out to Abisko . And further north away Städjan och Nipfjället. But there is a lot to do if you choose to stay in Särna. Take a coffee with  home baked buns in a real cabin, taste kolbulle (pancake) or try Särna?s specialty kolbotten (small crêpes).

Why not go on a hike, paddle or discover Särna?s surroundings by bicycle? Särna has several shops, a market, hockey rink, football field, viewing tower, swimming hole, and a 19-km illuminated ski track. During the winter, there are many ski hills to choose from, both at Idre Fjäll and Fjätervålen.

Since we came here in 2006, we have created a genuine family atmosphere at Turistgården.

Thanks to that we have turned the courtyard into our own home. Here, you can relax while the kids play at the playground. We always serve wonderful breakfasts and there is also the possibility to buy a lunch bag. You can also pre-order dinner. If you would like, we can put together a holiday package from your interests and wishes.

Since oktober 2010 are we certified with the eco-label The Green Key. The Green Key is an eco-label for tourism facilities that aims to contribute to prevention of climate change and sustainable tourism by awarding and promoting good initiatives. The Green Key aims to change the practices and behaviours of tourism actors including enterprises, authorities, guests, local communities, and to involve them in increasing their responsibility towards their own environment.
